Stop the ISS spyware expo in Prague!
From June 2 to 4, 2026, the ISS World Europe spyware expo is scheduled to take place at the Clarion Hotel in Prague, where companies from across the world will market and sell spyware and surveillance technology to all of Europe.
The expo is set to feature companies notorious for human-rights abuse scandals in numerous areas. We reject and will not tolerate an expo of technologies violating basic human rights happening in our country or anywhere in Europe!
The lead sponsor of the expo is NSO Group, authors of the infamous Pegasus spyware. It turns your phone into a spying device that continuously monitors your entire life — including encrypted messages, photos, calls, and location data — and can secretly activate your camera and microphone. It then sends that data to anyone who buys the spyware at the ISS expo. Pegasus is used extensively around the world to repress opposition politicians, diplomats, activists and ordinary citizens.
Another controversial company is Rayzone Group, known for their interception and location-tracking software. It has been deployed in most European countries, and MEP Markéta Gregorová even had to warn that “the exposure of the scope and global scale of these attacks is a warning signal.”
Cognyte, whose interception and location-tracking software is being used to oppress minorities - religious, ethnic and LGBTQ communities. Cellebrite, one of the most popular tools for extracting data from seized mobile devices, whose products have been used to repress activists and journalists in Serbia and Jordan. Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest arms company, which tests surveillance technology and weapons on civilian populations and then markets it as “battle-tested.” BAE Systems, an arms company that develops surveillance technologies capable of capturing any internet communication. And more than one hundred others that there is no room to list here. They are all united by spyware, surveillance technology and their disregard for the basic human right to privacy.
One of the companies that is no longer participating in the ISS expo is Intellexa — a consortium of spyware companies notorious for its Predator software, which functions similar to NSO's Pegasus. They are not taking part this year because their executives were convicted in Greece this year for human-rights violations using Predator.
Law enforcement agencies from EU Member states, as well as many universities, also participate in the ISS, despite the serious ethical concerns surrounding them. Their involvement undermines the values of public trust, human rights and academic integrity that these institutions are expected to uphold. Their involvement undermines the values of public trust, human rights and academic integrity that these institutions are supposed to uphold.
We find it unacceptable that academics from Brno University of Technology are speaking at the expo. We demand that the university intervene and refuse participation by its staff.
Surveillance companies must stop operating under the radar! We demand laws regulating and banning the use of commercial spyware.
We demand the unconditional cancellation of the ISS World Europe expo and a ban on hosting events of this kind in our country and across Europe!
NO to surveillance technology
and spyware!
NOT in Prague!
NOT anywhere in Europe!
